Alzheimer's Australia is the national peak body for people living with dementia, their families and carers and provides leadership in policy and services. As a disease of National significance, Dementia is a serious problem which at present, affects over 220,000 Australians.

Grand Pacific Tours is an official National Awareness Partner of Alzheimer’s Australia. Our contribution is through fund raising and an annual financial donation.

Grand Pacific Tours' staff members have formed a Charity Committee to develop fund raising activities like social events, balls and the like. We also look to our travellers to assist with loose coin donations at the end of their New Zealand holiday.

Our fundraising efforts for the year culminated with our Winter Wonderland Ball, which was held at The Sebel on Alebrt park on the 26th July. A cheque for $17,255.00 was presented to Lynette Moore, CEO of Alzheimer’s Australia Victoria – this is money that has been raised during the Winter Ball and over the past year by fundraising events such as the Movie night, the Trivia evening, the Lawn Bowls Social competition and the collection tins in New Zealand, for our departing clients to donate any loose change on their farewell dinner evening. Alzheimer’s Australia were so appreciative of this donation and presented a Certificate of Appreciation to Managing Director, Peter Harding. (see separate media release under the News Section).
