Shotover Jet launches new jet boats
 The Shotover Jet in Queenstown is world famous as the ultimate jet boating experience and thrilling over 3 million people since 1970. As a popular attraction in Queenstown, it is one of Grand Pacific Tours key optional activities for our passengers to experience in their free time whilst in Queenstown.
Shotover Jet has developed a new custom-designed ‘Big Red’ jet boat. The design and development team spent the past 24 months working on the new boat, and the ‘fifth generation’ prototype represents a big step forward in terms of power, manoeuvrability and enhanced customer experience. Designed specifically to handle the Shotover River Canyons, the new boats, which will roll out over the next couple of years, have a reshaped hull and can travel at speeds of up to 85km/h in as little as 10cm of water and can do full 360° spins. They feature new handrails with improved shock absorption and different heat settings for varying weather conditions, as well as being ergonomically positioned for improved comfort.
