On Wednesday 16 March 2022, Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern announced the opening of the New Zealand borders to fully vaccinated travellers.  

Australian visitors can return from 13 April 2022 and Rest of World visitors returning (visa waiver countries) from 2 May 2022 and all other countries requiring a visa from 31 July 2022.

After two years of border closures Grand Pacific Tours (GPT) is thrilled to announce the restart of our New Zealand Coach Holiday touring programme from 1 September 2022.

The following communication provides a booking update for travellers; outlines GPT’s Booking Terms and Conditions; and showcases health & safety requirements and further details on preparing to travel via our Touring with Confidence Guidebook.


BOOKING TERMS & CONDITIONS

Over the last two years GPT have been holding reservations in good faith with relaxed cancellation conditions, until the restart date was confirmed. Once the tour reservation being held has been reconfirmed by the GPT reservations department via the appropriate Travel Agent, GPT’s normal cancellation penalties apply.

Please be advised if travellers holding a ‘travel credit’ decide to not travel within the upcoming 2022/2023 touring season (01 September 2022 – 31 May 2023) and choose to travel beyond this date, the same tour pricing cannot be held as we anticipate that all tour prices will increase for the 2023/2024 touring season (01 September 2023 – 31 May 2024).

It is very important for all travellers to note that Travel Insurance is not included but it is strongly recommended. It is equally important for the traveller to understand the coverage the policy includes if their travel arrangements are interrupted prior to travel or whilst on tour due to COVID-19. 


NEW ZEALAND ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

It is the traveller’s responsibility to fully understand the mandatory conditions of travel that have been instigated as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. GPT take no responsibility if travel to or entry into New Zealand is denied due to regulations not being met. Self-isolation for fully vaccinated travellers is no longer required for entry into New Zealand.

Currently, all travellers will need to be fully vaccinated and receive a negative result in a pre-departure test. These tests could be a PCR test or supervised LAMP or RAT test. Visitors will be provided with RATs on arrival by the New Zealand Government and need to take a test on arrival. Any associated costs remain the responsibility of the travellers. 

PLEASE NOTE: The Government has confirmed they expect to remove pre-departure testing requirements no later than 31 July 2022.

Everyone travelling to New Zealand is required to complete and submit a New Zealand Traveller Declaration.   

The New Zealand Traveller Declaration is an online system that collects travellers travel and COVID-19 health related information. The New Zealand Government needs this information before travellers fly to NZ and once a flight is booked the declaration can be completed up to 28 days before the flight. The declaration takes 30 minutes to complete and when all requirements are met a Traveller Pass will be issued. Travellers will be asked to show the Traveller Pass at check-in and on arrival in New Zealand.

ITINERARY CONTENT

At the time of releasing the 2022 / 23 season product, GPT has compiled the content of all tour itineraries based on the knowledge that all accommodation and attraction suppliers will be fully operational by commencement of the touring season.  

If for any reason a component of the tour is not available at the time of touring, a replacement or refund will be provided.  

Any refund amount is based on GPT’s negotiated pricing and not retail prices. Known changes will be distributed as part of the Documentation process prior to departure.


STAYING HEALTHLY ON TOUR

All decisions to travel are the risk of the individual traveller and not the responsibility of GPT.

If travellers’ contract COVID-19 in NZ, they need to follow the New Zealand rules of isolation relating to those with COVID-19 and any travelling companion sharing a hotel room would be deemed a  household contact.

Whilst the GPT NZ Operations Team would assist with securing a hotel room for the isolation period, any additional costs associated but not limited too; isolation requirements, flight or travel changes remains the responsibility of the traveller. GPT are unable to refund any missed or unused portions of the client’s tour.

Please be advised that GPT will not be providing face masks on tour or supplies of Rapid Antigen Tests, both are the responsibility of the traveller.
