Skycity Auckland

Coach Captains are reminded not to leave their coach and traveller’s luggage unattended in the forecourt of the hotel for lengthy periods of time as this can block other coaches from departing the hotel. Please also update your contact details for this hotel as follows: Hotel ph: 09 363 6000. Duty Manager ph: 021 727 045.Your tour paperwork may not have these numbers listed correctly.

Te Papa, Wellington

Te Papa coach parking facilities can allow for up to 5 large coaches in the allocated space. Coach Captains are reminded to park as near to the front of the queue as possible. Overnight parking is still NOT permitted. GPT Local Host Wellington & King William Travel Groups

Coach Captains are reminded that the GPT Local Host for Wellington, Jennifer Looman, is NOT required to attend the Ibis Hotel for King William Travel tour groups booked on the 18 Day Highlights Tour (code: GPN/GPNKW).

Hobbiton Movie Set, Matamata

For GPT tours including the Hobbiton marquee lunch plus movie set tour, Coach Captains are reminded to pick up the Hobbiton tour guide upon arrival before heading to the Party Marquee for lunch located next to the Green Dragon.

Waitangi Treaty Grounds

The 2017 New Zealand Tourism Awards were held in Christchurch on 07 September with Waitangi Treaty Grounds proudly winning the Visitor Experience Award. This award is seen as the most prestigious accolade within the tourism industry. They also won the Sustainable Business Award at the 2017 Westpac Northland Excellence Awards held recently. Congratulations to all involved at the Waitangi Treaty Grounds.

Kaitaki Ferry, Picton to Wellington

Coach Captains and Tour Guides are reminded that the exclusive use of the Glass Lounge on board Kaitaki for GPT travellers is confirmed by Interislander (unless the ship is at full capacity). Please ensure you ask for details when reconfirming your group booking.

Quake City, Christchurch

Christchurch Quake City has moved location and is now opposite the Provincial Chambers on Durham Street.
New address is: 299 Durham Street North, corner Armagh Street. It is open 10.00 am - 5.00 pm 7 Days, except Christmas Day.  GPT travellers can use their Supa-$aver coupon, located in the Optional Tours Directory, for discounted entry.

24 Hour Medical Centre Christchurch, NEW LOCATION

The 24 hour medical centre and pharmacy (Pegasus Health) previously located on the corner of Bealey Avenue and Columbo Street has now relocated to 401 Madras Street. Contact details remain unchanged ph: 03 365 7777. Please ensure you update your Crew Manual.

Connectabus Queenstown

From 20 November, the Connectabus will cease to provide a pick up and drop off service from the Mercure Queenstown Resort. The nearest point will be either up the hill to the local dairy or down the hill at the Heritage Hotel (both approximately a 7 min walk). Mercure Resort are in contact with the Otago Regional council trying very hard to dispute the change – stay tuned for updates.

Walter Peak Discounted Wine Offer

Exclusive to GPT travellers, Walter Peak Homestead is offering discounted wine (by the bottle or glass) on selected wine. Real Journeys staff will be mentioning the special offer to GPT travellers as part of their ‘meet & greet’ on board the coach. This offer is NOT applicable on board TSS Earnslaw. Skyline Queenstown

Continued forestry work will be undertaken at Skyline Queenstown which involves the clearing of trees on either side of the Gondola to avoid any health and safety threats to the aerial cableway. Important dates to remember:
15 Jan  - 01 Jun : access to the complex via Gondola will be available from 10.00 am (no earlier)
01 May - 15 Jun : the Luge will be closed as the new 4 seater chairlift will be installed.

Free Wi-Fi @ Millennium, Copthorne and Kingsgate Hotels

From 01 December all MCK properties will offer complimentary Wi-Fi to GPT travellers capped at 1GB per room per day.

The Hermitage Hotel Aoraki Mount Cook (Ultimate Small Group Tours)

Dinner time in the Panorama dining room is now confirmed for 8.00 pm (was 6.00 pm) for all remaining Ultimate groups staying at this hotel. Coach Captains are reminded to reconfirm these arrangements when calling the hotel with traveller’s meal order. Dinner meals are still to be pre-ordered by 12.00 noon on day of dining (a pre-order form will be included with the Tour Instructions).
